Former Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi, has chastised Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over his alleged tribal comments.
Mr. Kwetey is said to have admonished people from the Volta Region to identify with the party as they do to a religion, adding they must get accustomed to the NDC and believe in it irrespective of its performance in government and contribution.
Reacting to the development, Mr. Baafi condemned the latter’s comment and noted that such utterances only tends to breed divisions amongst tribes.
He therefore described the comments as “senseless” which deserves no attention because tribal politics has over years done more harm than good to the country.
“If someone decides to embark on the path of instigating one tribe against another, that is a senseless mission and only the neophytes in politics will want to do that,” he said on the Angel Morning Show with Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.
Yaw Adomako Baafi who expressed disappointment in the NDC General Secretary blamed well-meaning Ghanaians particularly the leadership of the NDC for entertaining such dangerous comments.
According to him, instead of condemning such acts, delegates and electorates end up dancing to the tune of such unfortunate and unhealthy comments in the name of politics.
“At the same time, we the people allow ourselves for these things to happen because persons who spew out such rubbish at gatherings always recieve the loudest applause,” he added.
