A senior member of the Movement for Change, Nana Yaw Sarpong, has expressed his disappointment in New Patriotic Party (NPP) Caucus in Parliament, for their decision to boycott the business of the House.
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show on Thursday, November 14, 2024, during a panel discussion, Nana Yaw Sarpong stated that the NPP MPs do not take their legislative duties seriously when the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, called the House from recess.
“Before you seek plenary in parliament, you have to attend the business committee meeting; meanwhile, they’ve not gone,” the Aide to Alan Kyerematen said.
He further explained that Leader of the NPP Caucus, Alexander Afenyo-Markin should think of the progress of Ghana rather than accusing the Speaker of Parliament.
“He stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) still holds the majority in parliament due to the reduction in the NPP MPs’ numbers and…the NPP MPs know it,” he emphasized.
