The Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jennifer Oforiwaah Queen, has cautioned that the strategy by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice to name and shame former appointees suspected to be involved in corrupt practices, could result in defamation suits against the government.
Contributing to discussions on the Angel Morning Show on Tuesday March, 25, 2025, she noted that approach adopted by the A-G, Dr Dominic Ayine, appears more judgemental which could forever dent the image of the suspects even if they are cleared by the court.
“Someone can sue you for defamation based on what you have said,” she remarked.
She stated that: “No one is suggesting that when you detect corruption you should not make an arrest or speak out.”
