Former Chairperson of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Hajia Hamdatu Ibrahim says the recent raids carried by the Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat, Richard Jakpa, on former government appointees is a dent on President John Mahama’s administration.
According to her, the raid operations led by Mr. Jakpa to storm people’s home without a search warrant was inappropriate and must be condemned.
She noted that such behaviour amounted portraying a bad image for President Mahama.
“Jakpa is creating a bad name for John Dramani Mahama. If His Excellency would listen to me, Jakpa’s attitude and behaviour led to his sacking from the Ghana Armed Forces.
“He carries himself around as if he holds grudges against people and is seeking revenge,” she asserted.
Hajia Hamdatu added that “his [Jakpa’s] actions are creating a bad name for His Excellency.”
Her assertion is in view of the raid on former Bank of Ghana (BoG) governor, Dr. Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison which was orchestrated by Richard Jakpa-led National Security.
Speaking to Saddick Adams on the Angel Morning Show (AMS), Hajia Hamdatu pointed out that Mr. Jakpa should have used the proper channels to carry out such operations.
The former Chairperson condemned the action, stating that Jakpa should not have involved himself in such behaviour, especially destroying the CCTV cameras in the former BoG’s house.
“I cannot fathom the things they took from the house of the former BoG house because it is the same stuffs they would need for investigations. Removing the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras shows that you don’t want people to see your actions which paint the picture that you have something to hide,” she said.
