Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, has stated vehemently that he is not impressed with the performance of Ghana’s national men’s football team, the Black Stars.
He declared that he would be ignorant about the sports if he claimed to be convinced about Coach Otto Addo’s team.
“Very soon AFCON will start in Morocco. Is Ghana going to be there? No,” he observed, citing Ghana’s failure to qualify for the upcoming AFCON tournament to be hosted by the North African side.
“We have not qualified for the World Cup yet…so if I tell you that I am impressed then it means that I don’t know my job. I am not,” Mr. Adams said in an interview with Accra-based Citi TV.
The Sports Minister, touching on the team’s performance, noted that “There is a lot of room for improvement.”
Ghana currently leads Group I with 19 points following Monday, September 8, home win against Mali in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
