Captain of the Black Stars, Jordan Ayew, has extended the team’s heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians, including stakeholders, for their unwavering support throughout the successful 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The team beat Comoros 1-0 at home to confirm their ticket to the global finals, ensuring they secure top spot in a group made up of Mali, Madagascar, the Central African Republic, and Chad.
In a statement, Ayew conveyed the Star’s deepest gratitude to every Ghanaian citizen for what he described as “undiluted” support throughout the qualifying campaign.
He further thanked the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its continuous support and for providing the platform for players to represent the nation on the global stage.
The Black Stars captain also thanked the Government of Ghana for its encouragement and commitment to sports development, emphasizing that such efforts boost the team’s morale.
Addressing Ghanaians, Ayew added that they are appreciated by the love, prayers, and passion shown them by the people, which he said have driven the team forward and motivated them to perform at their best.

He reaffirmed the team’s pride in wearing the national jersey and their commitment to making Ghana proud.

He observed that he was honored to lead the national team and proud of the collective effort and achievements made so far, and praised his teammates for their dedication, hard work, and commitment, describing their spirit as “inspiring” and the “bond” they share as strong and admirable.
