Member of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) communications team, Aaron Aseidu-Antwi has pleaded with cocoa farmers to resist the urge to sell their farms to illegal miners (galamsey operators).
Speaking on ‘Anɔpa Bofoɔ’ on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, he acknowledged the challenges cocoa farmers are facing but assured them that their hardships would soon come to an end on December 7, 2028, when Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected.
He noted that, some farmers are contemplating selling their land to galamsey operators and emphasized the need for them to maintain their faith during these trying times.
“It is painful to calculate expenses, hire laborers, and pay them, all while hoping to earn around GH₵3,600 per cocoa bag,” he remarked.
He further highlighted the NPP’s support to cocoa farmers, and announced plans to visit every constituency for direct engagement.
“Next week in Ashanti region, we will be visiting every constituency to engage with cocoa farmers, because l have heard some of them wants to sell their lands to galamsey operators,” he disclosed.
He concluded with a strong appeal, urging farmers not to sell their cocoa farms to illegal miners, reinforcing that Dr. Bawumia will bring hope in 2028.
