The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Ghana has announced the vaccination of Ghananian nationals who intend to travel to the Republic of Senegal.
In a statement signed by the Ministry on Thursday, March 26, 2026, it indicated that the Senegalese authorities have informed that there should be vaccination against certain communicable diseases, for the protection of travellers’ safety.
”Senegalese Authorities have indicated that vaccination against certain communicable diseases, notably yellow fever, DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus), measles, and hepatitis A and B, is recommended for the protection of travellers’ health and safety,” the Ministry highlighted.
The statement stated, however, that presentation of vaccination certificates for these diseases is not mandatory for entry into the Senegalese territory.
MFA urged Ghanaian travellers to consult healthcare providers for their routine vaccinations prior to travel, in order to safeguard their health while abroad.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to provide timely information to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of Ghanaian citizens travelling outside the country.
