An Accra Circuit Court has remanded former Ghanaian Boxer Braimah Issah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku and his son for allegedly stabbing a man.

According to prosecution, the former WBO Africa champion, his son together with some friends attacked others in Bukom on Friday, November 25 at about 5:30pm.

The complainant, Ishmael Neequaye, woke up from his sleep after hearing noise in the neighbourhood where he subsequently elected himself to calm the tension.

However, prosecution said upon seeing the complainant, Bukom Banku broke a bottle and gave it to his son, Mustapha Kamoko to inflict wounds on Ishmael.

Mustapha thus complied and inflicted wounds in the abdomen of the complainant, who was immediately rushed to the Korle Teaching Hospital for medical care.

Efforts to arrest the boxer and his son proved futile until they were served with criminal summons. The two pleaded not guilty but were denied bail by Justice Adelaide Abui Keddey, who presided over the case.

They have therefore been remanded to reappear before the court on Monday, December 19, 2022.

Meanwhile a third accused, Prosper Quaye, 32, alleged to have been an accomplice of

Bukom Banku to cause the harm on the complainant is currently on the run.

He is also alleged to have smashed a 32-inch television with a stone during the melee and has been held on the charge of causing unlawful damage.

Having failed to appear before court for his plea to be taken the Court, therefore, issued a warrant for his arrest.

Mr Godwin Amoah, counsel for the accused person informed the court that Prosper Quaye was at the court earlier but told him that he was experiencing stomach pains and that he was going to buy some drugs.
