An ambulance transporting a patient has been mangled after it hit a cow at Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region.
The emergency response vehicle belonging to Fanteakwa South Constituency, was said to be transporting a patient to a medical facility in Koforidua, the regional capital.
The animal reportedly crossed the ambulance closer to the Y – Junction on the Old Tafo and the driver, left with no option ran into it.
The cow died on the spot while vehicle has been badly damaged and the emergency service staff recording some injuries.
Following the incident, two ambulances from Tafo and Begoro were called upon to transport the patient and the injured staff to the hospital for treatment.
