Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, an energy expert, will take their turns with the New Patriotic Party’s National Presidential Vetting Committee today, Monday, July 3, 2022, for their presidential bids.
The three are the first of 10 aspirants to appear before the committee whose sitting begins today after nominations closed barely two weeks ago.
Tuesday, July 4, will see Boakye Kyerematend Agyarko, a former energy minister; Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a former General Secretary of the party; and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong Member of Parliament for Assin Central facing the committee.
The vetting committee will host former Offinso South MP Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, former Agric Minister Dr Owusu Afriyei Akoto, and Essikado-Ketan Member of Parliament Joe Ghartey on Wednesday, July 5, day three of the vetting process.
Former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh will take his turn on Thursday, July 6.
The vetting results will be published on Friday, July 21, and balloting on Monday, July 24.
Meanwhile, provisions have been made to downsize the number if more than five candidates qualify for the primaries scheduled for Saturday, November 4.
