Private Legal practitioner, Lawyer Kwame Adofo has prophesied that the Special Prosecutor will soon tender in his resignation.
According to him, the SP, Kissi Agyabeng will resign from the position because of his failure to prosecute the persons suspecting to have engaged in various acts of corruption.
“The Special Prosecutor is confused, he doesn’t have the strength to prosecute the job, he will resign even before his time is up…,” he told host of Angel Morning Show (AMS), Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah.
Lawyer Kissi Agyabeng has since his appointment to the highest office failed to cause the successful prosecution and subsequent sentencing of any of the persons he has brought charges of corruption against.
He had suggested in a press conference in 2023 that all he is holding onto right now is his patriotism and sole commitment to uproot corruption to the best of his ability.
“As I said, I wasn’t sounding like a prophet of doom but there is Doom looming ahead of us, that very soon a murderer will boldly walk to go to seek an injunction. Should I feel frustrated and resign? I took an oath and in my life when I take on the reins to do something, I do it to the best of my ability,’ he has said.
The frustration notwithstanding, the Special Prosecutor has continued his job with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah being the first person to have been arrested in 2024.
The NEIP Boss who is seeking to become the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Asante Akyem Central Constituency is assisting with investigations into the monies and goodies he allegedly gave delegates in his constituency during the festive season.
Kofi Owusu Nkansah has since been released on bail.
But Lawyer Kwame Adofo said he arrest and the investigations of the NEIP Boss would amount to nothing insisting that the Special Prosecutor will soon announce to Ghanaians that he has failed in this one too.
“I pray he does not come back later to sing ‘ankwanoma’ to Ghanaians because that guy is just confused and will resign any time soon…he is in his second year and left with five years of his term but he won’t do anything meaningful but rather quit because the close of the term…,” he said.
