The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem South Constituency, Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu, has highlighted the remarkable strides her leadership has made across various sectors in the area.
Since she was elected MP for Akuapem South, development has been a cornerstone of her leadership, with policies and programmes positioned to transform the constituency in line with the “AkuapemSouthDeservesBetter” slogan.
Speaking at a durbar of the 2025 Aburi Odwira Festival on Saturday, November 15, Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu took the opportunity to tout her achievements.
One of the notable achievements is the establishment of the MP’s Office in the constituency to address the needs of constituents. This bold initiative was envisioned to provide easy accessibility for residents, enabling them to reach her with their concerns and needs without hindrance or discrimination.
Education
In the educational sector, Madam Dziwornu outlined various interventions to ensure that quality education is delivered to the people.

She established the Adwoa Education Fund, created to address and resolve educational challenges within the constituency. It is structured to support every child, helping them overcome financial constraints that deny access to education.
Since its inception, the Fund has supported over 700 Junior High School (JHS) graduates as they progressed to Senior High School (SHS).

This was demonstrated in her recent gesture, in which GH¢500 was presented to each of the beneficiaries last October as they embarked on their second-cycle education journey.
Under her leadership, she has also sponsored educational visits for five basic schools to Parliament, allowing students to observe and study parliamentary proceedings.
She disclosed efforts in tertiary education, stating: “I have also secured scholarships for students to both public and private tertiary institutions,” while further underscoring infrastructure deficits.
The Fund has further supported the renovation of school infrastructure and other educational initiatives aimed at improving learning conditions in the constituency.
Agriculture
Madam Dziwornu mentioned the Akuafo Adanfo Programme, implemented to uplift agricultural activities in the constituency by providing fertilizers and other inputs to farmers in local communities.
Communities such as Pakro, Adjenase, Tabankro, Adesa, Obosono, Okomfo, Ankwansu, Kyerepong, Fahiako, Dago, Anamenanpa, Abetema, Obotweri, Yeboah Sanaa, Asheresu, Yeboah Krom, Asong Yaw, and Yaw Nyarko, among others, are beneficiaries of the initiative, with disbursement continuing in phases.

She explained: “These fertilizers are intended to support our cherished farmers, as many of them face challenges in procuring fertilizers for their farms. I believe that with this support, each beneficiary will improve their yields in this year’s harvest. Together, we will continue to build a resilient and thriving agriculture sector for Akuapem South.”
Empowerment & Social Intervention
Highlighting empowerment, she stated that the ‘Mmea Mpuntu’, a Women’s Empowerment Initiative, was launched to transform the lives of women in the constituency.
According to her, its birth forms part of her broader agenda to uplift women by equipping them with practical skills and resources that would enable them to become economically independent.

The MP also draws attention to the ‘Adwoa Food Bank’, a promise, delivered in April 2025, which marked a significant achievement of a campaign pledge.

The ‘Adwoa Food Bank’, one of several policies introduced by the lawmaker, focuses on providing occasional support to vulnerable individuals in the constituency through the distribution of food items.

Beneficiaries of this initiative include the elderly, widows, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Health
In addition, a Free Health Screening exercise for elderly women is held annually on Mother’s Day as part of the initiative. The MP hinted that this program supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 3 and 5), which promote good health, well-being, and gender equality in the Akuapem South Municipality.
Sports
In the area of sports, the MP, who also serves on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, outlined her meaningful contribution to the promotion of youth talent. She has so far organized two football competitions dubbed “MP’s Soccer Tournament” to project and develop football talents among constituents.
MP’s Pledge
Madam Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu reaffirmed her dedication and readiness to do more, highlighting a few among the many programmes duly implemented for the benefit of the good people of Akuapem South.
“I firmly assured the constituents that many more projects and opportunities are underway, and with God on our side, development will reach the doorstep of every community,” she assured.
She inspired hope despite the significant successes achieved in her eleven months in office, adding: “As I have always remarked, with God, Adwoa will deliver.”
