President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Finance Minister, Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, to pay JustMoh Construction $78 million to clear debts for work done on the Agona-Nkwanta Road project since 2024.
This commitment comes after the government had earlier paid over $70million in arrears to the contractor working on the OFANKOR-Nsawam road to facilitate the completion of the project.
Mr. Mahama, during an inspection tour of the Agona-Nkwanta Road project on Saturday, December 20, 2025, reaffirms his administration’s pledge to complete all road projects the previous government embarked on.
“As I promised, we will continue all road projects we inherited from the previous government.
“All contractors who were working before we came into office on projects awarded by the previous government, I have asked them to continue, and we are paying them so they can continue the work,” President Mahama said.
In his briefing of the President on the project, Minister for roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza announced that contractors working on stalled road projects would be back on site by the first quarter of next year.
According to him, it follows parliamentary approval of the Debt Restructuring Agreement.
