The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival 2026, scheduled from Friday, 3rd April to Monday, 6th April 2026 at the Odweanoma Mountains in Kwahu, Eastern Region.
A statement issued by the GTA notes that the festival is held under the patronage of President John Dramani Mahama, with support from Tourism Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie. GTA CEO Maame Efua Hoadjeto is leading the organization of the event.
Described as Ghana’s premier adventure tourism event and flagship Easter activity in Kwahu, the festival draws thousands of local and international tourists, complementing traditional Easter social and recreational activities.
The 2026 edition will feature tandem flights, aerial displays, safety demonstrations, tourism exhibitions, and coordinated visitor experiences to promote Ghana as an adventure and domestic tourism destination.
Accompanying Easter activities include street carnivals, musical concerts and nightlife events, cultural performances and traditional displays, food bazaars with Ghanaian cuisine, exhibitions of Made‑in‑Ghana products, tourism activation programs, community engagement activities, youth and recreational events, and corporate/private sector events.
The festival supports the government’s commitment to boost domestic tourism, job creation, and growth of the tourism, culture, and creative arts sector, aligning with President Mahama’s vision to expand economic opportunities through tourism and the creative economy.
GTA is collaborating with the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council, Kwahu Traditional Authorities, Municipal and District Assemblies, security agencies, and private sector partners to ensure a safe and well‑coordinated festival.
The public, corporate bodies, development partners, and the international community are invited to participate in the Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival 2026 to experience Ghana’s adventure tourism, culture, hospitality, and festive atmosphere.
