Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has criticized media personality Berla Mundi for what he described as an inappropriate moment during a World Cup fundraising event.
Speaking in an interview with Saddick Adams on the Anopa Bofo morning show on Angel TV and Angel FM on Wednesday, March 2, 2026, the artiste recounted how he and Shatta Wale were put on the spot when a suggestion was made on stage about the possibility of a hug.
“She just took it upon herself to feel happy about herself; it was not part of the plan. She placed all of us on the spot. You could see, she was asking, ‘is that possible?’” Stonebowy argued
He indicated that the situation became uncomfortable when the idea was introduced unexpectedly in the presence of President John Dramani Mahama, questioning the appropriateness of raising such a request.
“I think it’s not a question she should have even asked. What was the answer she was expecting?”
Stonebwoy further emphasised the importance of respecting authority, particularly the “father of the land,” adding that refusing to hug could be perceived as a “straight disobedience”.
