The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has met with a group of unemployed persons with disabilities who visited the Ministry to push for job opportunities.
The meeting was a follow-up to an earlier engagement in February 2026, where the group first raised concerns about employment.

The Minister emphasized that addressing unemployment among persons with disabilities requires a coordinated and data-driven approach.
Dr. Lartey noted that the Ministry has started collecting data on persons with disabilities to understand their skills, qualifications, and needs to facilitate job matching.

“This is necessary to ensure proper job matching,” Dr. Lartey explained, adding that the data collection exercise has been expanded nationwide to ensure fairness.

The Minister acknowledged frustrations but assured the group that processes are underway to address their concerns.

She reaffirmed her commitment to dialogue and practical interventions to improve job opportunities for persons with disabilities.
