Renowned dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has stated that the issues between him and his colleague dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, cannot be settled with a sudden public display of unity, such as a hug.
Speaking Wednesday, March 25, 2026, on the morning show on Angel TV and Angel FM hosted by Saddick Adams, Stonebwoy stressed that. “even his mother’s ghost will kill” him if he suddenly begins to smile with Shatta Wale.
He argued that the situation requires a structured and sincere reconciliation process, similar to past approaches where committees were set up to address conflicts and ensure lasting peace.
“On the reconciliation side, I think there is something we are all missing. Back in the 2000s, a commission was set up to address cases so people could reconcile. Let no one think a fight can just start and suddenly end with reconciliation, unless they are not truly interested in peace,” he said.
Stonebwoy further revealed that the feud goes beyond music rivalry, alleging that Shatta Wale has, on several occasions, insulted his family, including his mother, wife, children, and in-laws, as well as people close to him.
“We should look into the root cause of the matter. I have been attacked over the years; some may justify it as marketing, but my wife, my mother, my in-laws, and myself have all been insulted,” he stated.
He cautioned against normalizing such behaviour, emphasizing that responsible individuals must be mindful of their words and actions, as not everything can be excused under the guise of promotion.
According to the award-winning artiste, genuine reconciliation can only happen if wrongdoing is acknowledged and an apology is offered.
He maintained that while he is open to peace, it must follow due process and mutual understanding.
“After all these rivalry issues, do people think you can just say ‘hug and move forward’? That will not work,” he added.
