The Kadjebi District Police Command has arrested a 36‑year‑old farmer, Chalim Madzaton (also known as Peter Tano), in connection with the murder of 80‑year‑old Dakolor Semaka.
According to a press release signed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, John Nchor, the suspect was apprehended at his hideout in Kpaya, a suburb of Ahamansu, following a sustained intelligence‑led operation.
Investigations revealed that on March 24, 2026, the suspect allegedly attacked his 55‑year‑old lover, Yaa Tugbenyo, and her mother, Dakolor Semaka, at their residence in Mangoase near Kadjebi.
During the incident, Yaa Tugbenyo escaped but later returned to find her mother lying motionless on the floor.
Police officers who visited the scene discovered the victim’s body in a supine position with visible signs of violence.
The scene was processed, and photographs were taken for evidence.
A medical officer at St. Mary Theresa Hospital pronounced the deceased dead, and the body has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, and will be arraigned before the court in due course.
