A consultant surgeon at the Trust Hospital also known as SSNIT hospital has died of coronavirus-related complications.
Dr. Richard Kisser died on Thursday, a notice to staff issued by the Public Relations office of the health facility has said.
“We regret to inform all staff of the passing of our consultant surgeon, Dr. Richard Kisser,” the notice read in part.
“The sad event occurred on Thursday 2nd of July 2020 at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) where he was receiving treatment for COVID-19 complications.”
The last update by the Ghana Health Service on the country’s coronavirus case count on Wednesday stood at 18,134 with 117 deaths. The country has also recorded 13,550 recoveries leaving the active cases at 4,467.
