The Teacher Trainees Advocacy (TTA) has called for an interdiction of the headmaster of Tweneboah Koduah Senior High School, over an alleged assault on a teacher in the ongoing West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
According to the TTA, the Headmaster, Mr. John Asante, lacks what it takes to head a school.
Mr. Asante is alleged to have physically assaulted one of the teachers for making a telephone call while invigilating the students.
The TTA in a release issued Thursday, August 6, 2020, conceded that it was wrong for the said teacher to engage in such misconduct but also condemned the decisive act of the Headmaster to assault the teacher.
“The Headmaster also has no legal right to extend his hands to slap the teacher in question and he must face the necessary punishment from GES,” the advocacy group stated.
It also called on all stakeholders of the education sector and the security agencies, to thoroughly conduct investigations into reported violence and lawless acts on the parts of candidates writing the WASSCE centres and bring offenders to book.
This it noted, will restore sanity in the country’s education sector.
