The Chamber for Women in Agribusiness Ghana (CHAWA), has named 2018 winner of Miss Agriculture Ghana, Afriyie Obeng-Fosu, as Agricultural Shero (AgriShero 2020).
The young mushroom farmer was recognised for her contribution to Agribusiness at the just ended Miss Agriculture Ghana Grand finale.
The award was presented by the Director of the Ghana Egg Secretariat, Comfort Kyerewaa.
AgriShero was established in the year 2018 to recognise the efforts of women in Agribusiness in Ghana and beyond.The founder of the Chamber of Women in Agribusiness Ghana (CHAWA), Theresa Aniagyei-Bonsu expressed appreciation to the executives of the Chamber who have relentlessly supported in shaping the conversation around young women in Agribusiness in Ghana.
She also congratulated Ms. Afriyie Obeng-Fosu for emerging as AgriShero 2020 and also used the platform to encourage other young women to follow suit.
The Chamber since it’s inception has recognised some great women in the Agribusiness sector till date.
Present at the event were Director of Women in Agribusiness Ghana (WIAD) at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Paulina Addy, CEOs of Pamela’s Chicks and Feed and Yesli Ice, as well as founder of Miss Agriculture Ghana pageant, Akosua Yeboah-Ghansah and a host of women who are changing the status quo of Agribusiness in Ghana.
The event was sponsored by Casa De Ropa, Blue Skies Ghana, Bel-Aqua and Bel-Beverages and powered by the Chamber of Women in Agribusiness Ghana.
