The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Agona West, Paul Ofori Amoah, says he doesn’t recall giving signed cheques to suspects arrested on Saturday for allegedly plotting to kill the Member of Parliament for Agona West, Mrs. Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
“It will be very difficult to recall if I have misplaced my cheque or I have even given my cheques out since I had a stressful moment over the weekend with my Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama”, he said after being questioned by Captain Smart on Angel FM, about the alleged suspects having in possession two cheques with an inscription of his name.
This comes after the Swedru Divisional Police command on Sunday apprehended four men, in a hotel room at Agona Swedru, allegedly hired to kill the Member of Parliament for Agona West.
The four suspects – Saddick Abubakar, Gordon Kunya, Isaac Addea and Dauda Fatua – had in possession two cheques in the sum of GH5000.00 each, a knife and a cutlass among others.
Speaking on Angel FM’s ‘Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ’ morning show, Paul Ofori Amoah, admitted that he planned on giving one of the suspect, Isaac Addae, money but cannot remember if he did or not.
According to the Agona West NDC parliamentary candidate, he believes his friend, Isaac Addae for instance will never do such a thing, noting that he was amazed by the allegation.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer for the Central Regional Police Command, DSP Irene Oppong, said investigations are underway.
