The Ghana Black Stars suffered their first defeat in the qualifying round for the Qater 2022 FIFA World Cup, after losing 0:1 away to Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Maritzburg United forward, Bongokuhle Hlongwane’s 83rd minutes strike was enough to send the South Africans to the top of the table in the game which came off on Monday, September 6, 2021, at the FNB stadium in South Africa.
The Black Stars failed to record single a shot on target.
Ghana, who had to make several changes to the team that beat Ethiopia on Friday, began well in early stages of Tuesday’s encounter in Johannesburg enjoying much of the possession in the first 30 minutes before shambolically going off.
Ethiopia and Zimbabwe are in action on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
