Since Psalm Adjeteyfio’s plight was made public, many sympathisers have pledged to support his rehabilitation, starting from his rent. The first person to make good on his promise is the Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, with a token of Ghc50,000.
Information reaching us from Lawyer Krobea Kwabena Asante’s Facebook page is that despite being drowned in grief, the vice president reached out to TT to offer assistance.
Dr Bawumia, who lost his mother this morning, paid for five years rent at a sum of Ghc30,000. He also gave TT an allowance of Ghc20,000 for sustenance.
Krobea Kwabena Asante wrote, “Despite mourning his mum who died in the early hours of today. Dr Bawumia this morning fulfilled a promise he made yesterday to TT of Taxi Driver fame that he will foot TT’s rent bills. Dr Bawumia has paid 6 months renewable for the next 5 years (30k) for TT and has also given TT 20k for upkeep. In all, he gave TT 50k this morning.”
Others who have pledged to support the veteran actor include Ayisha Modi, whose offer was to house Psalm for as long as he lived. As of this time, we do not know if she has been able to redeem her pledge.
