An Accra Circuit Court has adjourned a hearing of the case involving Dance Hall artiste, Charles Nii Armah known popularly as Shatta Wale to December 7, 2021.
The court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Essandoh ordered for the release of phones belonging to the artiste and three other accused persons as the defense will depend on them.
This was after the lawyer for accused persons, Jerry Avenogbor, told the court his client life and business depends on the phones but since their arrest, the phones have not been given to them, for which reason he prayed the court to order the release of the phones to them.
Shatta Wale was arrested alongside three others last month for fabricating a story that he had been shot.
The four accused persons were remanded into prison custody for one week after which Shatta Wale was granted a self-recognisance bail though he pleaded not guilty to the charges. The other three were also granted bail to the tune of GH¢100,000 each on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Meanwhile, Hiplife artiste, Samuel Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, is also expected to reappear in court the same day December 7 to continue his trial following his alleged brandishing of a weapon in a video on social media.
He was also remanded into prison custody by a circuit court judge in Accra for five days on October 22, 2021, but was later granted bail to the tune of GH¢100,000 with one surety.
However, the rapper who has been charged for displaying arms and ammunition has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
