Former President John Dramani Mahama, has characterized Hasaacas Ladies victory over ASFAR of Morocco that sends them into the finals of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Championship as “emphatic”.
His message follows the team’s 2-1 victory over the Moroccans in the first semifinal game at the Al Salaam Stadium on Monday, November 15, 2021.
The two goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Evelyn Badu helped the Ghanaian champions write their name into the history book as the first ever team on the continent to reach any Women’s Champions League finals.
Taking to his official social media page, the 2020 Presidential Candidate for National Democratic Congress (NDC) hailed the entire team and classified their victory as “emphatic”
“Sending a message of congratulations to the playing body and management of Hasaacas Ladies FC for their qualification to the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
“That was an emphatic win over ASFAR of Morocco” Mr. Mahama wrote.
Hasaacas Ladies will now play Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, in the finals on Friday November 19, 2021 at the 30 June Stadium in Cario.
Sundowns defeated Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea by after 5-4 penalty shootouts.
