Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to support the Black Stars of Ghana as they begin their tournament campaign against Morocco.
Ghana plays the Atlass Lions of Morocco at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaounde on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 16:00GMT.
And as the Black Stars open their group C encounter game in the evening and play subsequent matches, the ex-president wished the team well, holding that since football unites people, it is key to rally behind the team to end its 40-year trophy drought.

Ghana last won the AFCON trophy in 1982, where they beat host nation Libya 7-6 on penalties to lift their last title.
Since then, the Black Stars have managed three final appearances, but lost all in the process−2010 to Egypt and 1992 and 2015 to Ivory Coast on penalty shootout.
