Former Black Stars Assistant Coach, Otto Addo, is on the verge of becoming the newly Black Stars coach following his tactical prowess that led to the team’s qualification to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
According to Saddick Adams (Sports Obama), the Head of Sports for Accra-based Angel FM, the gaffer has reportedly agreed to a new contract with representatives of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to continue as Black Stars substantive coach.
The Borussia Dortmund assistant was appointed interim coach of which he guided Ghana to book their place in Qatar after being superior over Nigeria in a two legged playoff ties.
Following the feat achieved, President Akufo-Addo entreated the leadership of the FA to ensure that the technical team of the Black Stars team is maintained for the tournament.
The 46-year-old will sign a contract with the Ghana Football Association until the end of the year after successful discussions.
After consulting with Borussia Dortmund, an agreement has been reached for Otto Addo to sign a new contract with Ghana until the end of the year.

Baring any last minutes changes, the former Black Stars player will lead the team to the World Cup and would become the first ever Ghanaian to play and coach at a World Cup tournament.
Otto Addo was a member of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany where they were eliminated at the round 16th stage by Brazil.
Ghana have been paired in Group H of the November-December tournament in Qatar alongside Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea with their opening match against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
