Ghanaian high-life and afrobeats singer, Dennis Nana Dwamena better known as KiDi, has disclosed that he does not engage in betting.
According to the 2022 3Music Artiste of the Year award winner, he has never engaged in the act in his life.
The artiste, who was sitting in as a guest presenter for Angel FM’s Mid-morning Show christened ‘Y’adwuma Nie’ on Thursday, April 28, was responding to a question posed by a listener who called into the show.
“Kidi please I want to ask you one question: do you bet?”, the caller who identified herself as Akosua Amoakowaa asked.
“Eeii! Betting, I have never betted. Why? do you want to teach me how to do betting? I don’t bet”, Kidi replied.
The ‘Mon bebe’ hitmaker, who was surprised, further quizzed the caller for posing such a question at him.
But the caller, who also declared that she doesn’t bet, stated that sports betting is the trend in town and wanted to know if Kidi was involved in it.
Sports betting has become trendy with majority of the youth patronising it while some celebrities promote it.
Musician Kweku Flick, who declared that he has enjoyed several benefits from betting, has said he wouldn’t quit the venture any time soon.
Also, Shatta Wale displayed slips on his social media accounts that he has won Gh¢95,080 with a wager amount of Gh¢2,000 on one slip, and also Gh¢73,512 with a wager amount of 1,500cedis on another slip.
Meanwhile, the caller congratulated Kidi for his hosting prowess as a presenter on Angel FM’s ‘Y’adwuma Nie’.
Other listeners who called into the show also gave the artiste a 90% rating for sitting in as the guest host for the day.
Kizito Jnr. for instance scored Kidi’s performance 9.5 out of 10 while Mercy from Ashaiman rated him 9.99.
Media personality, Stacy Amoateng, on her part, drove to the studio and presented Kidi with a Cognac.
