Police in the Volta Region, have remanded a suspect for his alleged involvement in the murder of an 85-year-old man in Kpetoe.
The suspect, John Adonu, a welder, was put before court on Friday, June 17, 2022, and has since been remanded. He is expected to reappear before the court on June 29, 2022.
Meanwhile, two other suspects are being pursued by the police for their alleged engagement in the crime.
“Investigations are ongoing and efforts are being made to arrest two others whose names have come up in the investigations and are suspected to be linked to the murder.
“We are appealing for support from the members of the Kpetoe community in particular and the public at large in our investigation into the case,” a statement issued by the police read.
The murderÂ
The 85-year-old deceased, Joseph Tawiah Darko, was reported missing on June 14, 2022, after he had left home on 13th June and did not return.
On June 15, 2022, his decapitated body was found under a tree on his farm.
The body has since been deposited at the Ho Teaching Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
