Women in society are recognised and celebrated on different occasions and in varied forms to appreciate their diverse contributions to the facets of life, and to veteran hiplife artiste, Okyeame Kwame, they are a “tree of life”.
This impression about women, is why he chose to write his brand new song, “woman,” which features Sister Afia.
Speaking on Angel FM’s Y’adwuma Nie show hosted by DJ Ohemaa Woyeje, the artiste deduced that God was a woman because the Supreme Being’s traits, according to him, are portrayed in some of the things women do in society.
“Therefore, your perception of women changes once you realize that they are the ones who gave life to the world. Women are responsible for our existence,” he averred.
According to the songwriter, his girl child was an inspiration for the song.
Okyeame Kwame decided to write it before his daughter grows up in a society where men control women, to hold her to higher standard.
“I sang this song to honor women,” the singer reiterated.
“Therefore, I wanted to emphasize the methods we use to bother women, such as giving birth to a male child is far better than a female child,” Okyeame Kwame said.
The newly released song “woman” is making waves on various digital streaming platforms.
