The National Chairman of the opposition NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has said that the party has no intentgion of organizing people to hoot at and make a mockery of President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the NDC would not gain any benefit from the heckling of the president at a public forum.
He added that up until the media reported the incident, he was not aware that such an incident had happened because he, together with other leaders of the NDC have been out of Accra for some time.
His response comes after the New Patriotic Party accused the NDC of orchestrating the heckling of President Akufo-Addo at the Global Citizen Festival over the weekend.
Speaking on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofo Morning Show, Mr. Ampofo defended that “No way, the NDC would not do that. I wouldn’t want that for any president because he is the president of Ghana.”
“I only knew about it after it was reported…some leaders of the NDC and I have been within the Ashanti and Eastern Regions working for the past three months”, he explained when questioned about the incident.
He further quizzed that “of what benefit would it be for the NDC to organize people to hoot at the president.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo rather recommended that the NPP should go back and do self-introspection about what went wrong instead of ‘finding scapegoats always in the NDC.’
Referring to a CDD report, he reminded the NPP government that about 87% of Ghanaians feel that the country is moving in the wrong direction therefore they should do better.
