The Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) has extended a helping hand of relief to the displaced residents of Mepe and other parts of the Volta Region affected by flood waters from the Akosombo Dam.
The donation which was done with the support of Piwak Natural Health, producers of 3P Garlic Mixture is in fulfilment of the #SaveVoltaFloodVictims campaign which was launched last week and aimed at rallying relief support for the flood victims.
Items such as Mattresses, pillow, dresses and several others were donated to the flood victims with the hope of assisting them recover from the pain of their loss.
Presenting the items to the victims, Nana Apeanti, Operations Manager and head of Administration said the compnay was moved by the plight of the residents of the Volta Region and hence decided to embark on the #SaveVoltaFloodVictims campaign to solicit support for them.
He was hopeful the donated items would go a long way to help ease the problems of the flood victims adding that ABN would not hesitate to always come with additional items which they would receive from viewers/listeners.
Receiving the items on behalf of the victims, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, expressed gratitude to ABN for remembering the people of Mepe and coming to their aid.
The victims were thankful to the management of ABN, particularly the Angel Morning Show team and called for more support as they still lack several items.
“We lack a place of convenience, mosquito breeds and the unbearable scent from the stagnant water which can lead to all kinds of diseases and infections are part of our major problems here and we call for more support,” some of the victims said.
The ABN team consisted of Nana Apeanti, Commercial Manager, Barbara Sedode; General Manager of Angel 102.9FM, Kwadwo Dickson; Angel Morning Show host, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, other presenters, producers and other technical staff.
