Former Member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region, Samuel Ayeh-Paye, has stated that Ghana’s economy in the post HIPC and COVID-19 era under the administration has been outstanding.

He said that key economic indicators point to a better economic performance by the government than any other country globally.

Speaking Thursday, June 20, 2024, on the Angel Morning Show, the former lawmaker defended his argument citing the Ghana Statistical Service’s (GSS) recent report on the economy after the global pandemic.

“Recent report by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), Ghana’s economy has seen massive growth from 3.5% to 4.7% in the whole world.

“There is no country in the world whose economy is better than Ghana after HIPC and COVID-19,” he told Okatakyei Afrifa-Mensah.

Owing to the above, Ayeh-Paye believes the Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has achieved tremendously despite the domestic and global crisis.

The success story, he stressed is borne out of the government’s admission of the hardship facing Ghanaians and its willingness to change the narrative by working diligently.

“As we speak now, though we admit there is hardship in the country however we are turning around,” added Ayeh-Paye.
