The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has apologised to the Ashanti Regional Minister following what it described as, “uncomplimentary” comments made by a member of its Public Relations team during the recent fire outbreak in Adum, Kumasi.
In an official statement signed by Acting Chief Fire Officer, Daniella M. Ntow Sapong, the GNFS expressed deep regret for the incident involving its member – AD01 Alex King Nartey and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene who is also head of Regional Security Council (REGSEC).
It assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against the officer to prevent future occurrences.
“We appreciate your contribution, sacrifices, and untiring efforts that contributed to the Operational Response and Management of this unfortunate Fire Incident,” the statement acknowledged.
The GNFS pledged its invaluable support and dedication to reducing fire outbreaks in the Ashanti Region and pledged continued cooperation with regional authorities.
