The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended its 2024 parliamentary candidate for Agona West, Christopher Arthur, for breaching directive which prohibits premature internal campaign activities for party positions.
According to the party, Mr. Arthur had flouted party directive and held an electoral area meeting on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
In a letter jointly signed by the constituency secretary, Anthony Kwame Kum, and chairman, Alhaji Gibrine Tanko, the party described the meeting as undermining internal unity and strategic work to strengthen the party.
“Your action not only disregards the authority of the General Secretary but also undermines internal unity and the strategic work being done to strengthen the party ahead of the next general election,” the letter stated.
