Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels, has opened up emotionally about the backlash and mockery she has faced following recent issues surrounding her marriage.
In a video shared on social media, the actress was seen in tears as she addressed people who have been making fun of her situation, saying it’s okay for them to laugh but no one ever shares their painful moments online.
“It’s okay to laugh… it’s okay, it’s really okay to laugh as per ‘oh, when she was flaunting wealth were we enjoying it with her?’ It’s okay,” Regina said tearfully. “But nobody ever posts their sadness; no one ever does that.”
She went on to explain that many people hide their struggles because of the fear of being ridiculed.
“You know why? Because of this very reason… mockery,” she said. “As long as you are not in my shoes, you will never understand.”
Regina further questioned the unrealistic expectations people have of celebrities, asking what they wanted her to do during her difficult moments.
“What were you guys expecting me to do? Show off that I was being beaten? That I was sad? No,” she stated while crying.
