Veteran highlife musician, Sloppy Mike Gyamfi, has revealed that Ghanaian star Kuami Eugene performed one of his songs without seeking his permission.
In a recent interview with Nana Romeo, Mr. Gyamfi disclosed that Kuami Eugene performed his hit song, “Asem Kakra,” on YouTube.
“He sang the song so nicely. The title is ‘Asem Kakra’. He did a good job, but he didn’t speak to me about the song,” he stated.
Despite the lack of formal consent, Gyamfi expressed admiration for the young singer. “He’s like a son to me. So if he admires what I did and did something with it, I don’t have any problem with that,” he said.
When asked if Kuami Eugene personally knows him, Gyamfi replied, “I don’t think so. He might know my song but not in person or personally. But at least if someday he introduces himself to me, I would be very glad.”
