The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has urged Ghanaians, especially Christians, to reflect on the passion, crucifixion, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
In an Easter statement signed by General Secretary Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose, the Council emphasized the cross as the ultimate symbol of sacrificial love, forgiveness, and victory over sin and death.
The CCG linked the Easter teachings to Ghana’s development, stressing that sacrifice and selflessness, mirroring Christ’s laying down His life are essential for national progress.
The statement also called on leaders and citizens to prioritize the common good over personal comfort and to uphold Christian virtues of forgiveness and reconciliation to heal ethnic and political divisions.
The message also warned against corruption, dishonesty, and moral compromise, urging Ghanaians to embed integrity in all public and private actions so the Easter event retains its moral significance.
The Council further encouraged Christians and all citizens to let the message of the cross shape their character, promoting honest leadership, responsible citizenship, justice, peace, and shared prosperity for holistic national transformation.
