The Christian Council of Ghana has called on the Christian community and the Ghanaian populace at large to view the cross of Christ as the ultimate symbol of sacrificial love and emulate it in their pursuit of national development.
It emphasized that Christ’s sacrificial love encompasses forgiveness and victory over sin and death, in line with long-standing Christian beliefs.
According to the Council, the Easter celebration presents us with essential Christian and moral virtues that are critical for Ghana’s development.
That said, it entreated Ghanaians to always prioritize the nation’s welfare by moving beyond selfish interests.
“The Easter event presents us with essential Christian and moral virtues that are critical for Ghana’s development. We need to uphold the principle of sacrifice and selflessness because Jesus willingly laid down His life for others.
“This challenges us as Ghanaians to move beyond selfish interests and put the welfare of our nation first,” it added.
The Council reminded that this goal cannot be achieved without a common ground among leadership and citizens.
“Leaders and citizens alike must be ready to sacrifice personal comfort for the common good of our countrymen and women.”
The Christian Council of Ghana made this call in a statement issued on April 3, 2026, delivering its Easter message to the general public.
