The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has described as shocking news of the death of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford.
The late MP was shot in the spinal cord by robbers around 1:00am on Friday Morning while returning from a campaign in the constituency.
Eye witnesses say the robbers stopped him and his convoy and asked him to step out of the car before shooting him.
Commenting on his death on Anopa Bofo Morning Show hosted by Kwamena Sam Biney, the NPP Chairman said the NPP remains shocked at the news of the death of the MP.
He added that the party has been devastated by the news ‘particularly when today is the last day for filing nomination forms’.
The NPP National Chair continued that ‘the loss of life remains a big blow’.
