The Liberty House, Head Office GCB Bank Limited in Accra’s central business district, has caught fire.
Videos of the incident circulating on social media on Saturday, November 28, 2020, shows plume of smoke emitting from the multi-storey structure of the nation’s largest commercial bank, all through to the top floor.
Petty traders doing business bear the vicinity were also seen hurriedly collecting their wares and running for safety while the fire continued.
Cause of the fire is not yet known and there no reports of casualties.
Personnel from the national fire service were seen frantically doing their best to minimise the impact of the blaze.
