The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ga West Municipal Assembly, Clement Wilkinson, has taken steps to stop the woman reported to be pounding and selling fufu around the newly Constructed Four-Tier Pokuase Interchange.
“Hon. Clement Wilkinson who has been given Care-Taker responsibility over Ga North Municipal Assembly by the Greater Accra Regional Minister has together with the Municipal Coordinating Director and Assembly Members for Ga North taken the necessary steps to stop the said woman from carrying out such illicit activity around the Interchange”, a public notice issued on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 said.
A viral video circulating on social media earlier captured the woman pounding the fufu with some people patronising her food in her makeshift eatery.
Prior to this, the Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, together with the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, had tasked the Ga North Municipal Assembly to make sure that traders do not take over the spaces around the interchange as is the case of several highways and interchanges across the country.
The MCE warned the general public that any individual or group that engages in such illegality around the bus stops, pavements and footbridges of the Interchange, would face the full rigors of the law.
He also cautioned Ghanaians to desist from pasting posters, bills or any of such sort around the Interchange.
Mr. Wilkinson finally urged the public to protect and judiciously use the Interchange as it belongs to everyone.
