The founder of Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has described as fake, some purported list of nominated Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) circulating in the media landscape.
According to him the official appointment list will be made available publicly for Ghanaians to authenticate or invalidate their speculations.
He noted that, the list will be made known on Sunday, 19 September 2021 in a press briefing under the auspices of the Local Government Ministry and the Information Ministry.
In a post, the new Chair of the Ghana Hub of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) said; “all the speculations will be over, including fake lists and recommendations” and advised to “ignore all lists and all publications for just one day p3.”
“The Local Government Minister, alongside the Information Minister, shall address a press conference and put the official list of MCEs and DCEs out. The only list which matters! Same list will be put on the Info Ministry website afterwards so you can check it for yourself”, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko added.
The former media practioner emphasising that the nomination of the MMDCEs is not a “do or die affair”, called on the general public especially members within the government New Patriotic Party to accept whosoever is appointed because every decision by the President is done in the interest of the Nation and not to score any political point.
“Finally, this is not a do or die affair. The President appoints and he does so not to deliberately disappoint anyone but to get his work done. It is that simple. Let’s live with it and make progress” the post stressed.
