The Assembly Member for Nyamefie-Anunkunano Electoral Area, Adinkra N. Dominic, has denied linking the death of three people as well as 24 injured persons to the Drobo Chieftaincy disputes.
He debunked such social media claims being attributed to him and asked the public to disregard the fake publication.
In a disclaimer issued on Monday, October 11, 2021, he said “my attention has been drawn to a social media reportage circulating in the media space and purportedly granted interview by my good self on Kessben 93.3 FM which seek to indicate that I have confirmed the death of 3 persons and 24 injured over Drobo Chieftaincy issues. I hereby inform the general public that, the said reportage is fake and should be disregarded”.
He said he did not confirm the death of three persons over Drobo Chieftaincy issues.
The assembly member asserted that the ‘malicious’ reportage is an attempt by unscrupulous persons to create mischief best known to them.
Also, he noted that “nowhere in the interview did I associate the unfortunate gunshots in Nyamefie with Drobo Chieftaincy issues”.
Despite admitting that he granted an interview to Kessben 93.3FM on Thursday October 7, 2021, Mr. Adinkra disclosed that the conversation was centered on the unfortunate gunshots that resulted in serious injuries in the afternoon of Wednesday October 6, 2021 at Nyamefie when the Queenmother of the area was observing one week of her mother’s death.
While assuring injured persons of justice, the Assembly Member pledged to work with the Police Service to maintain peace and order in Nyamefie and its environs.
