The Civil and Local Government Services Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) is expected to call off its nationwide strike following an agreement reached with the government on January 19, 2022.
This is according to a communique issued by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission dated January 20, 2022.
ClOGSAG on January 17, 2022 had indicated its resolve to embark on an indefinite industrial action from the 20th of same month, in a bid to register their displeasure with the government and have their demands met on Conditions of Service.
Though it is not stated explicitly what their demands are for which reason they planned to embark on the strike, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission in their statement said the leadership of the association reached an agreement with the government which resulted in signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.
“The agreement granted some aspects of demands concerning their conditions of service with others being work in progress” the statement signed by the institution’s Head of Public Affairs said.
