The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Borussia Dortmund assistant coach, Otto Addo as the interim Head coach of the Black Stars.
The former Black Stars assistant coach under Milovan Rajevac’s second tenure, now takes the role as the interim boss following a meeting by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association on Wednesday.
Otto Addo will be assisted by George Boateng and ex- Asante Kotoko trainer Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
The Ghana Football Association has since tasked them to prepare the team for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against Nigeria in March.
“With Otto Addo assuming the position as new Black Stars head coach, his immediate assignment is to put together a team to face Nigeria in the final round of the qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament” the GFA said.
In another development, former Norwich and Brighton and Hove Albion boss, Chris Hughton has been named as the technical advisor for the new technical team.
The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast stadium on March 24 before travelling to Nigeria for the 2nd leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Otto Addo has over 10 years of coaching experience when he first worked with German side Hamburger SV as Assistant Coach in 2009.
He previously worked as a scout for the Black Stars in 2013 prior to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
