Actress and entrepreneur, Beverly Afaglo, has added her voice to the many Ghanaians complaining about increase in fuel prices recently.
In 2022 alone, fuel prices have shot up thrice at pumps with some Oil Marketing Companies including Total, selling theirs at GH₵7.99.
Afaglo expressing her frustration on her Instagram page said, the cost of fuel is one that is mind-boggling and very soon people will start tasking others who visit the markets to buy groceries for them in order to cut down expenses.
In pigin language, she said, “Charley, now nu the way fuel matter come be nu, if somebody dey go town, you go ask am say ‘charley you dey go Accra, you go pass through the Accra Mall side?, I beg if you dey come eh, pass through shoprite and buy me Chocolate and mincemeat…because I no go fit go town…’ because the fuel nu eh, charley, if you no get money you no fit move oo. If it is not money calling you are not moving. It is cre.”
Her video attracted many comments including that of a follower, Real vimlady, which said, “I tell you. Allah”
Theo Veep wrote, “Now deir we can’t buy Goil , shell and total ooo we go buy yaanom deir yie saa to spoil our engines like that”
However, Eagenieasare10 was of the view that, increase in fuel prices was a global issue. She wrote, “Please stop talking oo is everywhere even in America is too much. Ghanaians complain about everything is cuz of Corona Virus everything is expensive not only Ghana.”
