The Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA), has introduced an Electronic Ticket (E-Ticket) purchase for football fans for Ghana’s upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifying match between Ghana and Nigeria in Kumasi.
The initiative was taken by the government to allow football fans purchase tickets at their convenience, before the game and to also avoid unforeseen circumstance of overcrowding at the gates on the match day.
The online ticketing purchase medium will official start operating after a mini launch had taken place on Monday, March 21, 2022, by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
A USSD short code (*711#), through which fans can purchase tickets for the game, will be made available on all networks and will be operational from Monday March 21, 2022.
The short code will then allow fans to pay for the tickets using Mobile Money, after which a unique code will then be generated for the user, which they can present on the match day before entry to the stadium.
Meanwhile, the NSA has reportedly begun training personnel for the d-day, to ensure a smooth exercise.
The game is scheduled for Friday March 25, 2022 at 19:30GMT.
